Recently, vivo Egypt had the distinct honor of hosting a delegation from the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in the 10th of Ramadan City. our team stood proudly on the red carpet beneath a blue welcome archway—flanked by our signature robotic mascots—to give the IDA representatives a warm reception before heading inside.
Observing the Work on the Factory Floor
The primary purpose of the event was for the IDA delegation to observe the inner workings of our advanced manufacturing center. During the visit, representatives toured the factory floor, witnessing firsthand how vivo integrates cutting-edge global technology into local smartphone production. From intricate surface mount technology (SMT) and assembly lines to rigorous quality testing and calibration, the IDA was given a comprehensive look at the high standards that go into every vivo device manufactured in Egypt.
Driving the “Egypt Makes Electronics” Initiative
This milestone visit highlights a shared vision between vivo and the Egyptian government to localize technology. Established with an investment of over $20 million and spanning 11,000 square meters, our 10th of Ramadan City factory is a proud contributor to the national “Egypt Makes Electronics” initiative.
By localizing smartphone manufacturing, vivo is achieving several key objectives for the region:
